  • Breast Cancer: 51 suspected cases shock Ola, Mawuko, Mawuli SHS

Fifty-one suspected breast cancer cases recorded at Ola, Mawuko and Mawuli Senior High Schools have left the school communities in shock.

The cases were discovered when Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) visited the schools in the Volta Region to conduct breast cancer sensitization and breast screening exercises for students and staff.

The exercise, which was facilitated by the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, saw a total of one thousand six hundred and forty-seven (1,647) students and staff turning up to undergo the breast screening exercise.

The cases have created a sense of awareness among the students to be conscious of their breast health.

The three schools add to five schools MBCF has visited in the Volta Region with some schools benefiting from such exercise for the first time.

Meena Breast Cancer Foundation will continue its visit to other areas in the Region in the weeks ahead.
