IWD: MBCF screens female members of GNAT for breast cancer to celebrate women

Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) joined the world to celebrate women to mark International Women’s Day as it screened female teachers in Patang in Accra for breast cancer.

As a leading killer of women, MBCF used the opportunity of the celebration to save women through the screening activity.

The teachers who benefited from the exercise were predominantly members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) of various schools within Patang.

Two women were found with suspected cancer lumps out of the more than eighty screened.

Women, forty years and above were advised to seek further medical diagnosis at health facilities due to their vulnerability to contracting the disease.

The exercise is one of the numerous campaigns against the disease which has triggered a wake-up call for public awareness.

MBCF pays the bills of breast cancer patients as hundreds troop into its offices for support and advice.
