Breast Cancer: MBCF storms Eastern Region with sensitization and breast screening in schools

Thousands of students and staff of selected Senior High Schools in the Eastern Region have gathered on their campus to receive education on breast cancer.

Meena Breast Cancer Foundation (MBCF) stormed the region with its initiative to sensitize three schools on the disease and organize free breast screening for them.

The schools, Ofori Panin Senior High School, Christian Heritage, and St. Paul’s Technical Schools had their halls packed as they were engaged by the MBCF team.

It was insightful as students were exposed to first-hand information on the dreaded disease, its risks, and preventive measures.

The team had to spend three days in the region to attend to the huge population of the three institutions.

This is also due to the high demand for breast screening exercises across the country.

However, the initiative demands huge financial investment to be able to carry out the activities. This is burdening the organization.

The Eastern Region trip was made possible with Ghc 3,000 support from a Germany-based philanthropist, Mr. Kodjo Tomegan.

Meena Breast Cancer Foundation is arguably the foremost breast cancer organization dedicated to fighting the ailment throughout the year as opposed to the yearly October clamor.

As MBCF embarks on further trips to other regions, support is needed to make the fight against breast cancer intense.
